The Pentax Optio 430 Digital Camera

Within its sleek stainless steel exterior, the Pentax Optio 430 digital camera features a 4.13 megapixel, 1/1.8 inch CCD and an optical 3x zoom lens. It has an array of shooting modes to match a variety of shooting conditions, and offers a selection of settings for exposure, focus, and flash...All this in one of the smallest and compact bodies in its class.

  • The Pentax Optio 430 is one of the most compact and lightweight cameras in the 4 megapixel CCD, 3x optical zoom lens category.
  • The 3x zoom lens of the Optio 430 (equivalent to 37.5mm to 112.5mm in 35mm format) provides high-resolution images and realizes a surprisingly low image of distortion for a camera of such compact dimensions.
  • A 4.13 megapixel (total pixels) primary color filters CCD and advanced image processing technology ensures that images remain intact at the recording stage.
  • Images are captured with a choice of three compressed JPEG formats (Economy, Fine, Super Fine).
  • The Optio 430 allows smooth, stress-free operation via its image processing circuitry and software. A simple turn of the mode dial controls the selection of shooting and playback modes (Standard, Night Scene, Metered Manual, Movie, Multiple Exposure and Playback). A variety of other operations can be undertaken conveniently with the four-way controller and its central Ok button.
  • The Optio 430 is equipped with a USB port that supports the USB standard. This allows easy transmission of photographic data to a PC or Mac equipped with a USB port.
  • The high-resolution, 1.6 inch LCD monitor has a brightness setting that can be adjusted to suit your viewing conditions. It is ideal for composing and reviewing images on the spot.
  • The search for recorded images is significantly speeded up with use of the nine-image display screen. It is also possible to zoom in on individual images with 4x magnification to check for accurate focus and small details.
  • Images can be viewed on your TV screen via connection with the video cable, and the Optio 430 can also be set to play a simple slide show. It can even be used in combination with a wide-screen TV or LCD projector for effective presentations or a variety of other purposes.
  • A range of versatile flash functions, including auto flash for automatic discharge under low-light conditions, flash-on, flash-off modes, red-eye reduction mode, and night scene modes including slow-shutter sync are available.
  • Framing accuracy can be easily accomplished with the actual-image zoom viewfinder. It also features diopter adjustment from -3.0m-1 to +1.0m-1.
  • Not only is the Optio 430 capable of 3x optical zooming, it also provides 2x digital zoom for a combined capacity of 6x zooming.
  • The Optio 430 can record movies in AVI format. Clips can be created up to 30 seconds in length at 15 frames per second with a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels.
  • Not only does the self-timer mode allow you time to get into the picture, but it also allow longer exposures with reduced camera shake. It releases the shutter ten seconds after pressing. An optional remote control provides even more control, releasing the shutter with a three-second delay.
  • As there are many kinds of light; the Optio 430 offers various white balance settings. In addition to Auto, the Optio 430 features Daylight, Shade, Tungsten Light and Fluorescent Light. There is also a Manual setting that allows you to maintain colors as you please.
  • The Optio 430 offers a choice of three autofocus settings. Seven-point autofocus covers a wide area of the frame and allows the subject to come into clear focus. Spot AF allows you to pinpoint the focus in the center. Free autofocus provides greater compositional freedom, allowing you to place the center of focus anywhere within the frame that you choose.
  • When used with DPOF compatible printers, the Optio 430 allows the user to select the number of printouts and control the date function. The convenience of DPOF also allows the user to crop each print as desired.
  • The Optio 430 features an Alarm Clock function, which allows three different alarms to be set. An image can be set to display when the alarm sounds, allowing the user to awak to the face of a family member, or a picture of something related to their schedule.
